Approaching Nothing - 8% Double IPA Anniversary collaboration with Hidden River. It had been a while since we got together with the @HiddenRiverBeer gang to brew some beer, and we figured a DIPA to celebrate our 14th Anniversary was the perfect occasion. We mashed in 2-row barley and lots of flaked oats, and let the Hidden River dudes throw hops wherever they damned well pleased, and it sure pleased them to throw hops just about every-damn-where! Citra, Cascade, Riwaka, and Strata made their way into the mashtun, the kettle early and late, and extra charges were added to the dry hopper. The beer pours with a Douglasville-style haze and really bursts with hop character out of the glass. We’re getting notes of mango-heavy fruit cocktail, fresh squeezed tangerine juice, psychedelic grapefruit, when you first enter the dispensary, ethereal pink cherries, and sharing a box of orange creamsicles with your pals.
