Brown Ale 4 Pack
Brown Ale - 5.1%. It’s totally baffling really that in 14 years this is the first Brown Ale we’ve made. We’ve brewed a plethora of British ales - milds, porters, stouts, bitters, and pale ales; but for some strange reason, this is our first take on a style that for many of us in the brewery was the first type of beer we imbibed that showcased flavors beyond what popular macro lagers offered.
We brewed this with a base of Maris Otter malted barley, along with some brown, biscuit, and chocolate malts. It was hopped entirely with Fuggles and fermented with our British ale yeast. It pours a dark mahogany with those famous ruby tones and a khaki head. It’s incredibly balanced with an earthy citrus Fuggle hop character and a layered maltiness, with notes of Whoppers, chocolate cookies, iced black coffee, brewpubs in the aughts, and some baked apples. Very stoked on this.
